Ice Management

Commercial Ice Management & Salting

Winter property management doesn't end when plowing is complete. Commercial salting and ice control help reduce icy conditions and support safer winter access on the surfaces people actually use.

Snow Ends. Ice Doesn’t.

In the Glens Falls region, some of the hardest winter conditions show up between storms. Daytime melt, overnight refreeze, wind-packed surfaces, and runoff across a lot can leave a fully plowed property slick within hours.

Ice management is planned as its own part of the service rather than an afterthought to plowing. No treatment eliminates ice or removes a property’s responsibility for winter conditions, but a documented, property-specific plan helps maintain more usable surfaces through the season.

What Commercial Ice Management Covers

Commercial Parking Lot Salting

Ice control material applied across drive lanes and parking areas, with attention to the spots where vehicles turn, stop, and queue and where surfaces glaze first.

Entrances & High-Traffic Areas

Door zones, curb cuts, and approach aprons carry constant foot traffic and tracked-in melt. Treating them helps maintain more usable surfaces where people transition from lot to building.

Sidewalk Ice Management

Walkways, connecting paths, and accessible routes are treated where sidewalk service is included in the property's plan.

Changing & Refreezing Conditions

Daytime melt, overnight temperature swings, wind, and runoff across a lot can bring ice back to a cleared property. Ice control is planned around those cycles, not a single application.

Property-Specific Ice Plans

Low spots, shaded sections, downspout discharge, sloped approaches, and other problem areas are identified during the property evaluation and written into the plan.

Coordination With Plowing

Plowing and ice control are sequenced together during and after an event, so treatment happens on cleared surfaces rather than being buried by the next pass.

Most properties combine ice control with commercial snow plowing under one seasonal plan. If you oversee tenants or a portfolio, see what we build into plans for property managers, or send us your property details to start an evaluation.

Route Capacity

Limited Space Remaining on Our 2026–2027 Commercial Routes

We limit the number of commercial properties we accept each season. This allows us to build efficient routes and maintain dependable service throughout winter weather events.

If you’re considering changing snow contractors or still need coverage for the upcoming winter, we recommend requesting a property evaluation before remaining route capacity is filled.
